Resources Top 5: Red Mountain and Culpeo shift into gear with maiden antimony and copper drilling

Culpeo Minerals (ASX:CPO)

Culpeo Minerals continued its recent ascent despite not reporting any news.

Its share price has now more-than doubled from July lows after adding another 11% today.

Last week the company secured access for maiden drilling at its Vista Montana prospect, within its broader Lana Corina copper project in Chile.

The upcoming four-hole program comprises 2000m and is designed to test multiple high-priority copper-gold targets.

Vista Montana is characterised by a 250m by 250m target zone defined through geochemistry and geophysics, with sampling returning grades up to 2.62% copper, 2.07g/t gold and 11.2g/t silver.

It lies about 1km from the company’s Lana Corina copper-gold-silver-molybdenum discovery.

Previous drilling at Lana Corina returned several significant intercepts, including 454m at 0.96% copper equivalent from 90m and 257m at 1.10% CuEq from 170m.

Culpeo believes Vista Montana is part of the same north-northeast trending mineralised corridor as Lana Corina.

This prospective zone covers more than 3km of strike and up to 500m in width and hosts multiple outcropping copper targets.

Drilling is expected to kick off early this month and represents the first subsurface testing of Vista Montana.

The company is also drilling at the El Quillay South prospect within its nearby Fortuna copper-gold project.

Historical artisanal mines have outlined more than 6km of strike at Fortuna, supported by a series of recent sampling results grading more than 1.0% Cu.

The rig will be moved to Vista Montana once the El Quillay South drilling is concluded.
