Culpeo has kicked off an IP survey at its Fortuna copper-gold project in Chile, with shares moving higher on the news.
The TITAN DCIP survey will run across 10 lines for about 24km, targeting high-priority prospects at La Florida, El Quillay North, El Quillay South and Piedra Dura.
Each of these prospects has confirmed copper-gold mineralisation from surface work and drilling, with the new survey set to test for extensions at depth and along strike.
Culpeo is looking for chargeability and resistivity responses that could highlight new sulphide-rich drill targets beneath known mineralisation.
Interim executive chair Geoff McNamara said the survey was a key step in Culpeo’s renewed exploration push at Fortuna, with drilling already underway at El Quillay South.
Culpeo wants to turn a cluster of surface copper-gold hits into a ranked pipeline of deeper drill targets.
IP results will be integrated with mapping, trenching, geochemistry, magnetics and drilling to refine targets across the Fortuna project area.
Fortuna sits in Chile’s infrastructure-rich Coastal Cordillera, where Culpeo is targeting high-grade, near-surface copper systems.
There is also near-term news flow, with initial assays from diamond drilling at El Quillay South expected in early August.
